My big day ruined-'perforated uterus from the scope' + adenomyosisFrom: LuckyMom (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Oct 29 19:41:20 2004
The light at the end of the tunnel, yesterday was my laser lap (6th) and a tubal and an endometrial ablation. So excited was I to be rid of some pain. Uh-oh, the scope nicked my uterus on the way in vaginally for the ablation. They pulled out and decided to just cancel the ablation. SO they went in through 2 areas of my abdomen to find that my uterus was actual trashed, with lesions so deep on the outside to get off. Apparent diagnosis-adenomyosis, my uterus was mishapen and tilted way back to the pelvic wall. So I woke up in excrutiating pain from the nicked uterus, and was told that there would be no pain releif until my hysterectomy, which they could hope to fit me in by February, so back to the drugs that don't help me and increased pain from the perforated uterus. I waited 4 months for this surgery yesterday, and everyone keeps saying, well, now you have a light at the end of the tunnel, when you get the hysterectomy. YESTERDAY WAS MY LIGHT! I have been carrying on ridiculously functioning as Super Mom! and Super Home Day Care Provider! and Super Wife! and trying not to complain about the pain, but can I do this for another 4 months? My uterus is constantly contracting and I remember labour well but the great thing was that you got a baby at the end of it all. This just never ends. I am taking percocet for the pain post-op, but it's like candy, it doesn't help at all. SOrry to complain so much, I'm just so disappointed!!!! Kathi
