Excising the endo usually does work better, and really the only 100% way to know whether or not you have endo (biopsy sent to lab to confirm.) The only problem is that usually only endo specialists preform this. My Dr, who excised my endo put me on continuous BCP's too, but she said to take one every day until I start spotting, then go off for a week. That way, I only have to go off my pills two, maybe three times a year max. It makes a lot more sense to only have a period when you have to, rather than sucking it up every three months.
