I would like to tell you that I have had stage 4 endo. now for five years. First year they found a tumor, did an ultrasound and could not find some of my organs do to the massive amount of endo. They gave me Lupron shots for six months hoping to shrink the tumor and endo. Did not work so surgery was the only thing they could do to excise the endo. When they opened me up all of my organs were fused together it took the OBGYN oncologist six hours to operate. They also had to do a complete hysterectomy. One year later another tumor formed in the cul-de-sac area, it was attached to my bowel, rectum, and vagina. This is when an endo. specialist came into the picture. They had to remove eight inches of my large intestine some of my rectum and some of my vagina and I ended up with a colostomy bag. I can tell you it sounds really worse then it is. I had my bag for a year and finally had it reversed in Feb. My endo. is still growing and I still have a lot of problems but the bag was not a big deal. It will take a few weeks to get used to seeing your intestine sticking out of you gut but after awhile my family and friends named it and it became a joke. Hope your surgery goes well and you wake up without the bag but don't worry if you do. I will be here if you need me. Good Luck!
