Re: to have or not to haveFrom: Tiff (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Oct 28 18:45:44 2004
Glenda, I have also had the same experience with Lupron as Stacy, pretty much to a T. As you know, we are all different and noone can tell you what to do...Personally, I do not believe the risks of Lupron are worth trying it. When I had the injection, my Dr. didn't give me a choice. After my first surgery, when I returned for my postop, he told me this is what we are going to treat you with and before I had the chance to open my mouth and ask about the "treatment", he left the room and the nurse gave me the shot. Needless to say, I switched doctors. But when I got home I did a lot of research and was pissed! I do not feel that this injection is the answer. Aside from the side effects, I believe Lupron makes our bodies much more susceptible to Lupus, and Osteoporosis among other things. I have problems with my left hip and I do believe it is partially due to the Lupron. I understand your desire to have a hysterectomy. I have been telling my husband for years that if we are not pregnant by the time I turn 30, I will have a hyst. I have two years left! It is the only thing that gives me a glimpse of hope, even w/o kids. Please take this with a grain of salt. What it always comes down to for me is what I have a peace about-I feel God helps us know what is best for our own individual person. Good luck! Keep me posted, or if you need to talk, please feel free. BTSauders@juno.com.
