Re: Just looking for someone to talk to with the same problems...

Mandy, I totally know how you feel, I think I feel the same way right
now and I feel like I am in the worse mood, however talking to you about
it somehow makes me feel better and I hope that we all help you feel the
same. I wish I could refer a doctor to you, but I live in Birmingham,
AL and that is a little far for you to come to the Doctor. I will keep
you in my prayers and pray that you come to some kind of resolution and
get some relief, but do remember with Endo the only releif is the lab
and it can always come back. Also I do not know how old you are or if
you are married, but I have heard that having a child can sometimes help
the sitution, not always but sometimes. So if you are married and
thinking about kids it might be a good idea to have the lab and then try
to have a baby following. That is just a suggestion, again I do not
know your age and you life. I was in your boat 6 years ago and I was
only 17, it is something really hard to go throught and now that I am
facing another surgery it is just as hard. Believe me it gets better.
What to expect, the surgery is an outpatient so you will not be in the
hospital over night. You will go in that morning and they will jsut put
you to sleep and you will wake up either 1-3 hours later depending upon
what they find. Please note the recovery room is always cold, so ask
for more blankets. You will be uncomfortable for a while and then they
will release you to a room, where you will spend a couple of hours to
monitor you and make sure you are okay. They will then send you on your
way (you CANNOT drive or will not want to drive you will sleep on the
way home) You might have discomfort due to the gas they have to inflate
your stomach with, sometimes it gets lose. You will be extremely week
and tired for a couple of days and think that you wll never get better,
but believe me you will. Then you will start to get some energy back
and get back to normal. Typical if you have your surgery on a Wednesday
or Thursday you will be able to go back to work that next Monday
usually. They will make four incensions, one at the belly button, and
three very low. You will not be able to see these in time they will
start to vanish, I have to point the to people so they can see them so
that is a good thing. I think this covers it, let me know if you need
anything else!! Good luck finding a doctor!
