I have heard about the tampon theory, but never the abortion theory. I tend to disagree with both - I have been diagnosed with endo. since my early 20's & had an abortion when I was 32 (due to medical reasons)my endo.problems, treatments, & surgeries were issues long before I ever had the abortion, & I can't say that it has made things worse since. As for the tampons - never once in my life have I used them, I have had horrible painful periods since the age of 12 so honestly the thought of inserting a tampon was never on my "to do" list if you know what I mean.I personally don't think that what you ate as a child, whether or not you used tampons, hair dye,had an abortion,or whatever has anything to do with the fact that we have this disease.I think it's genetic, & we were just dealt a less than optimal hand of cards. I don't doubt that some environmental factors play a role as triggers , but I think it all boils down to inheriting that particular gene, or genes.I think we need to stop blaming ourselves for what's not within our control.Thats just my opinion.
