Re: Sharp, stabbing pains in left ovary...Please tell me this has happened to you!!From: Angela (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Oct 21 13:21:43 2004
I agree- you are not a cry baby. There are tons of us out here with Endo who are miserable most of the time! We just hide it well some days, but not on others. :-) *Hugs* I started my period for the 1st time when 11. It was kinda bad. Well from age 13-18 I had periods that I thought would kill me. I vomited non-stop the first day, and had cramps so bad I'd literally pass out from pain and horrible fever. I missed 2-3 days each month from school due to it. Birth control pills seemed to help for years. I knew I had endo - diagnosed at 17 years old. Then when about 30 years old, I went off BCP because my husband got "fixed". I was sick of taking them, and trying to remember to take them. Plus I smoked, and the doc said I should get off them or quit smoking. At the time I couldn't give up my cigs so I went off them. All hell broke loose again. Not quite as bad periods as when I was a teen, but Endo started coming back badly. I had a Laporoscopy at age 33 years old. It helped but one year later, I was back to the problems again (horrible periods with super heavy heavy clotty flow, cramps from hell- but no vomiting thank god, crabbiness, lethargy very bad, headaches, and then having cramps all month long whether I was mensturating or not. Shooting pain in abdomen and low back pain off and on all the time). My doc tried to get me to take heavy doses of Provera by pill/mouth - I read all the problems people who take it have, online, and I refused to take it. She waited for me to quit smoking - (which I didn't until this year) and finally gave me Seasonale birth control - which I hate. Have had a mini-period every single day while taking it - totally defeats it's own purpose to try and have a period only 1x every 3 months. So I'm going to go off of it again. I'm divorced now, and 38. Have no intentions of having children ever, so I am going to say the heck with it and have a hysterectomy spring 05 I think, when my work schedule calms down. Just get it over with. But I like you, have had pain, discomfort, agony and aggravation every day of my life since I started my period. Makes me want to smack a man !!! LOL They don't know how good they have it !!!
