Re: Tampons: A Cause of Endometriosis?

I had the same thought myself, that tampons could cause/contribute to Endometriosis. I have just had the first injection of Lupron. I recently read that it is "thought" that the endometrial lining backs up, thus finding its way to other parts of the body (My bowels have been greatly affected). It has been my experience that the use of tampons dramatically slows my menstrual flow, causing clots to form, thus brief periods of no-flow followed by heavy flow. If tampons can contribute to blockages, I thought it might be possible that the use of tampons might also cause my system to get "backed up" as well. I am convinced this may very well be a contributing factor to my disease.

What truly bothers me the most at this time is that my complaints didn't register with my doctor, so I now find myself with a severe case of Endometriosis. I have opted for Lupron for the time being, but I so have newfound reservations after having read comments posted on this website.

Thank you,
