New to this site and to endo...From: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Oct 1 13:43:38 2004
Just past the 6 week mark for my laporotomy for stage 4 endo. 3 lg cysts removed, plus appendix, as a cyst was wrapped around it. Have been in BAD pain the last few months, but they kept working me up for a bowel problem. FINALLY, someone had the sense to do a CAT scan and 3 days later I was having a laporotomy. Went home after 3 days, developed an infection in my pelvis, readmitted to hosp for 8 days. Had drainage tube placed and large IV (PICC) line placed in my left upper arm. went home and received IV antibiotics for 2 1/2 weeks. Cried like a baby, just worn out . Didn't sleep well and I live in N. Carolina. I came here to Illinois just to visit my family for 2-3 weeks. Had no idea that all of this would transpire! But, I have been so blessed. My doctor here was wonderful. My parents were so helpful and Jesus really saw me through this, every step of the way. Still dealing with pain (JUST FINISHED MY PERIOD and it was a rough one.) I had hoped that it would not be as painful. Thank God for Percocet. Sorry to ramble on.....just feels good to vent and be part of this community. God bless you all. Amy.
