Hi Connie,

There are 4 stages on the endo scale. Stage I is the least severe, and Stage IV is very severe. Stages are determined by the size, colour and depth of the lesions and the amount of adhesions. The funny thing with endo is that the Stages are in no way related to the level of pain a woman feels. Women with Stage I can be totally debilitated by it, and women with Stage IV can sometimes be symptom free and only be diagnosed because they present with infertility and have an exploratory lap! Go figure!
