Re: Is there anyone out there that has ENDO, but has never taken birth control?

Tiffini, I have advanced endometriosis and never, ever was on the birth control pill prior to being diagnosed. I always had menstrual pain for over 15 years but always just tolerated it with motrin or ibuprofen. If I had complained more I would have been put on the bc pill which most doctors conclude would have probably slowed my endometriosis and stopped it from being so advanced and helped with the pain. Instead I have advanced endometriosis which the bc pill can not do much for now- it has to be surgery. So, I regret not being on the bc pill because I have major complications now (bowel surgery, bladder, lymph nodes, diaphragm, etc and elsewhere.) The bc pill is not a guarantee for solving endo but I think it may help it from getting out of control to advanced stages by shrinking the existing implants and shortening your menstruation length. - Sharon
