Yeah, tolerance is a tricky thing. I had a colonoscopy a few years back
and they lightly sedated me. It took a while for me to go to sleep and
then I woke up about a minute before he finished. The nurse said
something like "I can't believe how awake you are! Most people fall
asleep right away and don't wake up until well after the procedure is
over". I wasn't even taking any kind of narcotics back then! My mom is
the same way. I used to be unable to take Percocet or Vicodin without
throwing up but over the years I guess my body has gotten used to it. It
sucks!!
