Hello Jen, This can be scarry. My first experience with anesthia was also with my first lap. Like most things in life the anxiety is almost worse than the whole procedure. You are doing the right thing, by researching before your lap. I went completely ignorant to what was wrong with me(still have many questions). My surgery was an emergency lap, b/c of an ectopic pregnancy and the endo was found. The worst part of the surgery for me was the time I was wheeled away from my husband, son, and mom. The pain was minimal. They did blow my belly up and that can cause a little pain. My great-aunt had a solution for that, "All air rises, so point your ass to the sky." Good luck and keep it up. Gina
