Hi Mary, I agree with the other ladies, you get as many opinions as you need and keep going to different doctors until you have one that you are comfortable with. It is very scary dealing with the unknown, especially at such a young age. I had my first lap at 17 to remove 2 cysts and a tumor, but the pain never went away. I was back in the doctors office all the time and by the age of 19 my gyn reluctantly said, we can do another lap and see what is still causing you pain. He never mentioned endo and I had never even heard of it. Well, sure enough after that lap he explained to me that I was covered in endo and he got what he could, but couldn't get it all. Why I am telling you this is that you can go into your doctors prepared with info about endo and let these doctors know that you aren't stupid and you have done your research. Trust me there is a big difference when you go into the doctors prepared or unprepared. There are so many great websites to help you with this. Also, keep a diary of your pains and have that on hand with you so you don't forget to tell them anything, sometimes doctors can be very intimidating and you go blank and forget to tell them some very important info, especially if you are going to be going to a few doctors. Remember you aren't alone, we come in all different shapes, colors, backgrounds, but we are all dealing with the same real disease. You are in my thoughts in prayers and keep us in touch.
