Re: Upset about lack of treatment during laparoscopyFrom: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Sep 7 08:48:43 2004
Some Doctors don't like to do anything but diagnose during a lap because of scar tissue. They say that burning it off will only cause more scar tissue to occur. I had a Doc like this. During my second lap, he did not do anything. I have had three laps, all by different docs, and the first and third ones did burn off adhesions and scar tissue and I felt much better. My thinking is that I have scar tissue anyway, and if burning it off can provide some relief for awhile, then it is worth it. Also, if the scar tissue or adhesions were close to your bladder or bowels, the Doc may not have been able to do anything because of the risk. I have it close to my bladder and so during my last lap a few months ago, the Doc was limited to what he could do on my left side. I know it is probably frustrating to find out nothing was really done after you went through the surgery. Hang in there! I hope things get better. If you continue to stay frustrating with this Doc, find another one! She should be willing to answer any and all questions, regardless of when you have them!
