Re: intense constant pain in ovariesFrom: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Sep 3 13:19:12 2004
>From my own experience, and what I read from others, pain all month long, especially in the ovary area is pretty common with endo. I feel good right now from a recent lap and am on Lupron, but before my latest lap, I was in pain at least 28 days of the month. I would always have a dull, achey kind of pain that never seemed to really go away, and some days, it would be extreme. Endo can do so much to your body and if it is close to nerves, etc. it can cause constant pain. Even a little endo inside can cause extreme pain if it is in just the right place. Sorry to hear he won't at least give you something for the pain. I get some relief from 3-4 Advil (4 of them is the same as the 800mg Ibuprofen he prescribes me) and the heating pad. When I can't use the heating pad, I wear the ThermaCare patches for menstrual cramps. They are a life saver! I can put one of those on at work and it will stay hot for 8 hours. Pretty reasonable too-I think 3 patches run about $6 or so. I always make sure I keep one in my desk drawer, and one in my purse, just in case. Also, try a hot bath or sitting in a hot tub. Heat seems to be the thing that helps my pain the most. Hang in there! We are here for you on the forum. Hugs! Amy
