If the Doc won't prescribe something or you can't get in, 3-4 Advil work for me. I get a prescription for 800mg Ibuprofen, but that is the same thing as taking four Advil or generic equivalent. Heating pad helps me a lot too and when I can't lay on the heating pad, I use the Therma Care patches.
