Anonymous,
I am so glad that you have had a good experience with Lupron. I truly
mean that. What you say is true, we cannot believe everything we read.
We must really check out the validity of our resources. And, the
negative posts regarding Lupron on this forum are anecdotal, and there
ARE many of them. However, when we experience something similar to
someone else, and our doctors tell us that they don't know what is
causing our problems, and we hear others expressing the same symptoms,
well, then that's validation, and that IS support for many of us. I
can't tell you how many nights I cried myself to sleep going through
this, praying, LORD, please help me, help some doctor figure out what is
wrong with me and help me. It was an absolute nightmare. But, it's
getting better, as more time passes since the last injection.
I could be wrong, but -- this forum IS for support, but also for the
sharing of information, isn't it? Would it be honest to censor out the
negative posts on Lupron? My belief is --let's get it ALL out in the
open!!! If we stick to the facts as we have experienced them, or share
reference materials that we come across, and try to be objective, then I
don't see what the problem is. Does it bother you that some of us have
been through a nightmare with Lupron? You say that you don't want to
stop someone from taking Lupron who might benefit from it, who might
have a positive experience such as yourself. Good, post that! Are there
better, more reliable sources that you've found with information about
Lupron? Post them!
I've got enough to get through with all my side effects than to worry
that I might offend someone on the forum if I share what I truly went
through after taking the Lupron injections.
I am sorry if hearing what some of us have gone through might scare some
people, but if I had been smart enough to do some research and not just
take the word of my doctor, I would have never taken the Lupron, and
saved myself a lot of pain, money, and tears. I wouldn't be in the
situation I'm in today. I call that learning from others' life
experiences. And it's up to each individual, how to make her own
decision. I've never told anyone what to do in any of my posts. I will
say that when you've been through a lot of pain, it is hard not to want
to "warn" others so that you can spare them. But, I realize that not
everyone has similar results after Lupron.
Also, I will say that I have seen many posts from individuals who have
had a positive experience with the Lupron. So, the information is here,
if folks only read through the archives. Both sides are represented.
BTW, my husband tells me not to read too much either. There are a lot
of scary things in the world, and God bless 'em, they are trying to
protect us. But, as good old Francis Bacon said, "Knowledge is power".

Second of all, I feel the main reason we hear about all the negative side effects from lupron within this site is that we are all here looking for support. Very rarely do I come in here and see anything positive. It makes me sick when I read about someone scared to try lupron becuase of what they have read in here. I haven't had any side effects other than what my specialist told me I would have and I don't foresee me having any down the road.
