Having LAP this Tues - anyone else having one? From: Kat (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun Aug 29 23:56:52 2004
Though this will be my (lucky) 13th surgery so far, I must admit I am more nervous about this one, then I usually am, PreOp. is pretty certain that I have Endo all over my Bowels and bladder, so he has me doing 2 Fleet Enemas - yuck - Drink this Magnesium junk, AND taking two kinds of antibiotics - 6 ills 3 times on Monday. He is planning on doing a lot more then the Dr's did in my previous two Laps: -Tighten up the opening to my bladder -correct my Retroverted and slightly prolapsed Uterus -Remove all Endo on Intestines, Bladder, and whereever else it may be -move the intestines over to the right side (most on the Endo is on the left side -remove cyst from right overy -Do a D&C -Since we will be TTC afterwards, he will also clean out my tubes if needed. - Depending on what my Ultrasoud showed (I don't know the results yet) he will remove my Gallbladder as well. He says he is going to try and keep it Laproscopic, but he said he may not be able to. He thinks the Endo may be too severe, since he can feel Endo noduals when he does a pelvic exam. I told him that while I would rather have a Lap, my biggest priority was for him to get everything he could. If he can do all that via a Lap, I only have to stay obernight - 23 hour observation - but will be a few days longer if he has to open me up I guess. Anyway, I'd love to hear from others having surgery, also those who have had procedures like what I am having, especially those who have had a Laparotomy. God bless.
