I Did It!From: Julie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun Aug 29 15:44:21 2004
I had my surgery with Dr. Albee on Thursday in Atlanta. I had my gallbladder removed, my appendix removed, multiple adhesions removed and ALL of my endometriosis removed. My gallbladder was removed as an additional surgery, if any of y'all remember my previous posts. My appendix was diseased and would have exploded before too long. My endo had actually SHRUNK!!! from stage 4 in 2000 to stage 1-2!!! It was in the cul-de-sac, the allen master's area, my ureters, my appendix, my ligaments, and various other areas, but had removed itself from my bowels, ovaries, and fallopian tubes!!! My one large adhesion had grown into a row of six or so deep adhesions, but he removed all of them!!! I spent the night in the hospital and rode back home, 4 hours, the next evening. I have a catheder that will hopefully come out Monday Am, if my bladder decides to work!! My poor husband has to empty it every few hours and record the amount!! Anyway, Dr. Albee was the greatest doctor that I have EVER had in my whole life, and I have had a lot!! After my pre-op, he said a prayer asking God to guide his hands so that he could fix me back to the way God had made me. As I was going out on the op table, Dr. Sinervo held my hand and told me that they were going to take GOOD care of me and that I didn't need to worry. It was a real comfort. I am now just three days post op and I already feel better than I did three days pre op!! I have six cuts, three for the gallbladder and three for the endo, adhesions, and appendix. I also had my cervix cauterized to stop the chronic inflammation that I have had since my first period at age 11 due to almost constant yeast infections. I will not be able to get up unassisted for two weeks, and I can't walk much (though I do six laps through the house at least 3x's a day), and I can only lay on my back and I have to do breathing exercises to avoid getting pneumonia, but I would have this surgery done again in a heart beat!!! I am going to have a NORMAL life, complete with children!! I would recommend to anyone that they save up money and see Dr. Albee, if it is at all possible. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to post and I will reply as soon as possible!! Good Luck to you all and God Bless!!!
