Re: Lupron Depot Shots-FOR NICHOLE

I am currently on Lupron now and have done it once before. I am one of
the positive stories about the shots. While I do have hot flashes and
night sweats, I really experience very few side effects. I suffer from
depression anyway and am prone to mood swings, but I do not notice that
they get worse on Lupron. I also lose weight while on it. In the first
week of starting the shots, I had a pretty bad period, but once it was
over, felt great and lost 5 pounds. (probably a lot of water bloat
which the birth control seems to do to me). I am already completely
pain free but I also just had a lap so don't think there is much endo in
me right now to act up. I get a bad headache for about the first 24-36
hours after getting the shot, and my hip hurts to the point I limp for a
couple days from the injection. I notice this time that I am reacting
even better to the shot. May be because I have been on continuous birth
control for a couple years and have been in a low estrogen state anyway.
Everyone reacts very differently but I wanted to write you so you know
there has been some positive experiences too. For me, the few side
effects I experience are well worth being pain free. The first time, I
stayed pain free for well over a year after stopping the shots.
If you would like to talk more about it, feel free to email me at my
work address: ameyer@dbllaw.com.
Hugs and God Bless,
Amy Meyer

>>Hi Ann, Well the reason I say I won't have kids is cause my husband had a vasectomy before I met him so I already did my grieving over that. I have been living with this pain for almost 13 years now and it is so tiring. I have done the Birth Control pills, and diet and such but it just doesn't matter it seems as though the endo keeps attacking me. My right side is in so much pain anymore that after four hours of standing I hurt and I am a cashier. My dr. mentioned the Lupron Shots and so was wondering if people have heard much I have heard all negative and it affects women obviously different. I have heard more negative though than positive so what have you heard if anything? Thanks for talking I feel I have no one due to my situation with endo. My mom had it done years ago due to a pre cancer stage. Anyways thanks for listening. Nichole
