Are GnRH Agonists & Progestogens a MUST after Lap?From: Shannen (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Aug 23 01:45:03 2004
Hi all, I just went for a post opt appointment. I seem to be recovering fine except for a bit of backache and shortness in breath from walking, which, Doc says are normal after resting for so long. Anyway, just a few questions here that I wish you guys could give some advise on based on personal experiences. 1) Is it normal for the need to take medication even after an operative lap? 2) He mentioned a Gnrh Agonists in a form of Jabs. (I think its call Lucrin or something like that, not Lupron) Has anyone taken this? What's the side effect? 3) After the jabs, I need to maintain my condition with monthly Progestogens. What's the side effect? 4) Has anyone taken the chance of skipping medication with success? I was just too overwhelmed to hear that I need to take medications to curb this stupid endo that I was dumbfounded. I remember just telling him that I needed time to consider. Although these treatments are gonna be expensive, its the side effects that are holding me back. I'm only 25, why must I be going through all these :-( I would really appreciate any views from you guys. Thank you so much, this forum is bringing me lotsa of comfort.
