It appears to have gone very well, with no visible signs of cancer. They found two normal-looking ovaries adhered to the back of my uterus, the left with a very small endometrioma and the right with a small simple cyst. They removed the simple cyst from the right, and the endometrioma from the left along with a piece of the ovary. Endometriosis and adhesions were found, but I don't yet know to what extent. I'm kind of perplexed because he said the omentum looked okay. On CT, they saw omental caking, and the omentum is the approximate site of my very worst pain on days 2-3-4 of my period. It also feels like where this excess fluid that I get is forming. So while it is very nice to have a preliminary assessment of cancer free (of course I won't know for sure until I discuss the pathology with him in a couple of weeks), I still don't really have answers for the 5 liters of bloody fluid that were drained last year, or the high, sore, clawing pain I get during my period. He mentioned a small, unexplained area of inflammation -- I didn't get the full details on that. I hope it's not lupus or some other autoimmune thing. Maybe I should get an ANA. I'm still walking around bent over a bit (it's day 3 post surgery now) with cramping unless I take the pain medication. It seems like the D&C I had along with the laparoscopy has jump-started my period this month. It's nowhere near the level of one of my desperately awful periods, though, thank goodness!
