Adenemyosis and hysterectomyFrom: Jude (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Aug 19 19:16:57 2004
Saw my Gyn today, who advised me on the basis of my symptoms and an examination that I am likely to have adenemyosis (spelling?), that the endo has got its way into the uterine muscle. His recommendations based on my history are either GnRH agonist treatment or hysterectomy. I have suffered with this for 3 1/2 years and I am not getting better. It has only been three months since my last excision surgery and I already back in severe pain. I have really tried everything from Naturopathy, acupuncture,to excision surgery (4 times) and pharmaceuticals (7 times including provera x2, depo-provera, dimetriose, zolaex, mirena UID, epilim for neuropathic pain). I am feeling distressed and overwhelmed by this decision as I am 31 and have no children. Please, anyone who is in this situation or had gone ahead with hysterectomy or GnRH agonist treatement, I would appreciate hearing your advice, support and experience. I have been bawling my eyes out all morning and I have to get myself together to see my clients. Please help, Thanks, Jude.
