Re: Lupron or Hystorectomy?From: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Aug 18 07:06:14 2004
I echo Penny's thoughts. I am one of the lucky ones who gets complete pain relief from Lupron with few side effects, either during the shots, or long term after they have stopped. I do notice achiness in my joints, but I have always experienced that, long before I ever heard of either endo or Lupron. Staying on the shots is up to you. It can take some time for the Lupron to kick in and make you feel better. The first time I did it, Doc said it could take a few months. Now I am on it again following my third lap and was pain free within a few weeks. I usually stay pain free for a year or better after stopping. So for me, it is worth the few side effects I experience from Lupron to feel normal for awhile. But everyone is very different, so it is hard to tell what will work for you. I don't know what you have tried, but I also found some success taking continuous birth control. And many women are finding relief with diet change and natural treatments like progesterone cream. Maybe those are a few other options you can consider. Hope this helps a little! At least we can all understand. Hugs! Amy Meyer
