Re: Adjusting to Lupron

The same thing happens to me. I am on my second round of Lupron (first was in 2001) and just had my first three month shot on Monday. I feel pretty bad already. Started one heck of a nasty period yesterday and my hip has been so sore from the injection that I have been limping for two days. (that's a fun one to explain to everyone in the office!) My Doc has told me that you will feel worse initially as the ovaries will first produce a surge of estrogen before they finally shut down. I don't remember feeling quite as bad when I had my second 3 month injection but I think I did feel cruddy for about a week. I tend to get a migraine and nauseous for a day or two after the shot, plus the inejction pain doesn't help. Also, did you make sure you got your second shot in time? I usually try to go in a day or two before the official three months is up to be sure it stays consistent in my system. That seems to help some.

Hang in there! Amy
