Re: Endo and Sex Drive....RIPFrom: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Aug 12 07:39:42 2004
It is NOT you! I feel like I wrote your message myself. I used to be a very sexual person and the hubby and I had an active sex life. Then the endo got way out of control and now I could really care less about sex. Even when I don't hurt and I think maybe tonight is the night, just thinking that it MIGHT hurt during or after sex is enough to turn me off. I think he gets sick of hearing me say "be easy, be careful". I love my hubby more than life itself and he is a wonderful friend and lover, but I too would probably rather walk on hot coals than have sex! He is very patient and understanding and never complains, but that look of disappointment and frustration is enough to make me nuts! It is like a lose-lose situation: If I give in and have sex, I will probably hurt and bleed, sometimes for a couple days after, but if I say no, I have to live with the guilt I put on myself for not feeling like a good wife. Damned disease! It's bad enough to live in physical pain, but I swear the mental games it plays on me is much worse. At least they make pills for pain. They can't make a pill that makes me feel not guilty! If you want to chat or vent more, email me at work: ameyer@dbllaw.com. I completely understand and you are not alone! Hugs! Amy
