chronic candida...any tests to tell if it's from the intestine?

Hi All-- I have read a lot of good information on here about chronic yeast infections. I seem to have constant itching / yeasty discharge, esp. after sex w. my partner, in spite of us using condoms and washing before/after intercourse (I know yeast isn't usually spread from partner to partner, and he doesn't have any symptoms, but I've heard of an increase in yeast with some women after sex?). My symptoms also seem to flare up after eating yeasty foods--alcohol, sweets, bread--so could this be connected?

I have been on birth control for endo + premarin cream (not the premarin pill) for vaginal dryness for the past 3 years...could this be causing the increase in yeast?

I am wondering if the yeast might be coming from the intestine. I have read a lot about intestinal yeast, and I feel like I have the symptoms of "yeast syndrome"--yeast infections, fatigue, achiness, brain fog, etc. Are there specific tests I can request from my doctor to see if it is spreading from the intestine? The last time I went to the doctor, I asked about Yeast Syndrome, and the doctor said she had never heard of it. It is frustrating bc these symptoms feel REAL, but not many medical professionals seem to believe in them!

Also another thing--I have lived in a very damp apartment that I recently discovered that has a SEVERE mold problem...any connection between mold exposure and candida?

any answers are welcome....esp. about what to ask the doctor about this condition and finding out how to treat it other than over the counter yeast creams (I've used them...they work at first, but then the symptoms come back) I am frustrated and in need of support! Thanks...have pain free days everyone.
