I know exactly what you mean. I have had this happen three times to me. The first time I went to my local dr. who told me a blood vessel had busted. The second time I went to again, only because it was six months between the first and second time it happened. Once again he thought a broken blood vessel. At the time the only pattern I had was that both times my husband and I had intercourse the night before. So when it happened the third time (yes we had intercourse) I went to my GYN. He told me that I was due to Ovaulate any time and with the banging against the uterine wall caused the lining to break down a little. He said when women ovulate that is when the uterine wall is it's thickest. So now I'm on BC patch to see if that helps, mainly with it keeping the lining at one thickness. If that doesn't work then he will go in and do explortory surgery to see if there is a cyst or anything in my uterus. He highly doubts it. Hope this helps.
