Is anyone on MS Contin or Neurontin? From: Angie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun Jul 25 19:31:43 2004
I had my first appt with a pain management doc yesterday, he prescribed 30mg MS Contin. I told him I had pain about 10 days per month so he gave me 20. I had horrible pain yesterday so I took one around 3:15. It helped but I was still in quite a bit of pain. I have a follow up appt Thursday so I am going to ask for a stronger dose. He also mentioned Neurontin but didn't give me a script, maybe he forgot. Does anyone use it? He also gave me a referral to physical therapy and a prescription for a TENS unit. I need to check my insurance to see if it's covered before I call to order one. I have read prior posts on the TENS unit, it had some mixed reviews. If it's covered by insurance I will definitely try it! Is it something I could wear at work? I am happy that he prescribed the medication but he didn't talk about doing any testing to try and find out what's causing my pain. I guess that's not what pain management clinics are for, but I would still like to try and find the cause of my pain (lap in June showed no visible endo but I still think I have it). My primary care doctor did write up an order for a pelvic MRI so I will probably schedule that next week. I'm not sure how helpful it will be but I would still like to give it a try. Thanks in advance, Angie
