Re: Laparoscopy Recovery Period/ PONV

Make sure you tell the hospital staff how you react. It makes me sick too, so I always tell them and they give me something through the IV that makes it better. I just had my third lap in June and felt OK from the anethesia. I did get sick when I got home, but I think that is because I am a smoker and tried smoking a cigarette. Note: Smoking a cig after surgery is not a good idea! I just laid off the cigs for 24 hours and was fine. Was even able to eat some crackers and yogurt that evening without getting sick.

Good luck! Amy
