Re: Lupron Shots to suppress Ovaries with Estrest

It is hard to know how you will react to lupron. For me, I experienced hot flashes and night sweats, and a rare mood swing, but actually lost about 7 pounds. I would also feel queasy and get a bad migraine for about 24 hours after getting the injection, so I would just always get them late on Friday afternoons so I had the weekend to recover. I can't say the side effects I experienced were fun, and I am not sure if there is any long term effect (I do notice that my bones crack and pop more and are sometimes achey-wonder if this is due to the bone loss lupron causes) but for me, it was well worth the trade off of not being in pain while on the shots. And I stayed pain free for about a year after stopping them. Again, for me, it worked pretty good. I am actually getting ready to start it again in a week or so as follow up from a lap in June. If you want to talk more about it, feel free to email me at my work address: ameyer@dbllaw.com. I check it daily as opposed to rarely checking my email that shows on the forum.

Hugs! Amy Meyer
