Depending on why your docotr suggested surgery, You may want to talk to her about other options. Surgery is not a fun thing and it won't cure you. You may want to try something else first. Or even get a second opinion if you are not comfortable with hers. Every doctor seems to like to just jump the gun and do surgery.
