Re: 1st Laparascopy tomorrow morning. Scared and questions... Please Help

I hate to say this since your surgery is scheduled tomorrow, but I'd find a doctor more skilled in removing Endo. Not one who says she will just remove "small amounts" and leave the rest. She doesn't sound like a very skilled surgeon. There are surgeons who can remove pretty much all of it, depending on where it is, of course. My surgeon removed SEVENTEEN fibroids from a friends uterus and managed to save it so I felt pretty comfortable with him doing mine. A LOT of surgeons would have just said my friend needed a hysterectomy and yanked everything out. It's easier and more money for them. There is a BIG difference in skill levels of some docs.

I definitely do NOT want to go on Lupron either and REFUSED when my doctor suggested it. I'm still having painful periods after my 3rd surgery about 3 months ago. I was actually shocked to have pain because the first 2 surgeries worked like miracles to get rid of pain for years. Luckily my pain is nothing like the DAILY AGONIZING pain I was having right before the surgery though. And the dietary/herbal changes I've been making seem to be helping. My last period was much shorter, less painful and less bleeding. Search some of the old posts on this site for some of the natural approaches some of us have tried. There is A LOT of good information. Too much to reprint here.

Personally, if you could I'd cancel the surgery and get a 2nd, 3rd or 4th opinion until you find someone skilled enough to remove all the Endo while they have you open. No use going thru surgery if they aren't going to remove it all.

Good luck!

>>Hi there,
>>I had my second surgery for endo in may. I've also been on the Lupron for 5 months. Being pain-free is the best but this drug is AWFUL. make sure you read all the side effects before you go on it. I've experienced ALL of the effects X100. The Lap went VERY well, better than I expected. I returned to work (office) after a week and a half. This is my last month of Lupron, my doctor's appt is July 8. My husband and I are still trying to have our children.
>>I'm going to try a liver cleanse...read up on this at sensiblehealth.com (I think) you may want to try it, It sounds very promising. I wish I would have known about it before taking the Lupron.
>>Good luck tomorrow! Don't worry about the scarring, it is very minimal.
