Re: Anyone know of Dr. Tureck?From: Katy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Jul 1 15:43:48 2004
Hi Shelby: I also heard about Dr. Tureck online, and he has been my doctor for the past 4 years. I think he is an excellent surgeon, and probably very knowledgable about endometriosis, but as I am approaching 50, I find that he is no longer the best doctor for me. He is a member of the University of Penn's Infertility Specialists, and seems focused on solving endo-related problems for women of child-bearing age. I find that I have to remind him when I need a mammogram, or even a pap smear. I find him too willing to write off what I think are symptoms of my endo coming back, as symptoms of menopause. He may be right, but I am thinking of switching doctors to someone who is more sensitive to my overall gynecologic needs. I would go back to him if I needed surgery though. My primary care doctor, can't say enough nice things about him, and says he is responsible for making her able to have her first child. That was something she had been trying many years to do. Hope this is helpful! Good luck to you. Katy
