Re: Pain getting worse w/ perimenopauseFrom: D.N. (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Jun 29 15:39:56 2004
Hi, I am in a similar situation. I have ORS after having almost everything removed. Perimeno symptoms are very strong at times and other times very low - like hot flashes etc. In the past year it has intensified. Overall, I have less endo symptoms; however, in this past month I know my estrogen levels have been on the higher side because lack of hot flashes, etc and I had a day where I ran a temp of 100 and it felt like I was having a cycle. Also having some bowel problems. My pain has changed some from being just located in a lymph node, to being more centralized and it can cause sciatica pain and low back pain. Sometimes I feel like I have a bladder infection because I get similar - urgency, irritated bladder feeling, but then it goes away. I think because perimeno is not cut and dry you will have times when your estrogen is going higher than what you are used to and it stimulates the endo and then causes more pain. This is my hypothesis. I know I have not ovulated in over a year, but have times when my estrogen will go up. I have certain feelings that come when I have a "cycle". It often feels like a period even without having a uterus. Crampy, achy feelings. Sometimes intense feelings of pain/sharp pains/burning pains. When my estrogen is lower- lots of hot flashes etc, I feel better, except for the sleeping problems. I hope this info helps. Write back if you have more questions. Best wishes, D.N.
