Hi Anna-Marie! I also am clinging to anything I can when I have my bowel issues. It's the worst pain I've ever gone through. Mine gets worse during my period, but it also remains a constant factor in my life. To give you a little more detail on my diet, well, I am a picky eater! The dr. told me to add the B.R.A.T. diet to my regular food routine. Bananas, Rice, applesauce, and toast are supposed to help bulk up your stools. Sorry...kinda gross! But, it has actually helped. I am not a big fan of bananas or applesauce, so I add a lot of rice to my meals along with toast. I have cut my fiber intake to a small amount each day also. For example, I eat a low fiber cereal for breakfast, some toast with my lunch, and I try to throw in some rice with my dinner. I have cut out caffeine and started drinking lots of water. Also, I love salads, but have had to cut down the amount of salads I eat also. Also, something that has helped me tremendously is Ensure. My husband's uncle can get Ensure really cheap, so he bought me a whole case of the chocolate ensure drink. During the times when my bowels act up their worst, I can't eat, so I drink the Ensure.
