Re: A few questions HELP PLEASE!From: Georgie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Jun 16 22:03:53 2004
Hi Candace, There is an article on this site about the LUNA (Laparascopic uterine nerve ablation) proceedure - they seem to think that it isn't much use to women with Endo pain ("None of those randomised trials have really shown any evidence that LUNA in its own right is effective for women with endometriosis.") See the article for more info: http://www.endozone.org/display.asp?page=congress_NWMA2004-johnson1 Also, do a search for LUNA on this forum, I think it has been discussed before. About your other question - pain and infertility are the main problems with Endo. However, I don't mean to scare you, but women with Endo seem to suffer from more immune-related problems than other women - things like allergies, excema, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, lupus, krones disease etc. You might want to look at dietary changes to help with the pain (may also help with the immune related things if you have any). I have had Endo symptoms since 16, and was diagnosed 2 yrs ago at 26. In the last month I have given up wheat, and I don't know if it is that or something else (I'm also on a different BC pill), but this month I only had a half day off work and I didn't take ANY painkillers (not at all 'normal' for me!). Apparently wheat and dairy are the 2 things we endo girls should look out for. I'm not quite ready to give up cheese yet, but I'm definitely going to try once I have got the hang of this no-wheat thing. Good luck in your search for pain-free days :) Georgie
