Re: Question about Endo and IC

I was diagnosed with Endo in 2000 and IC in 2001. Although there is no medical link that has been determined, I believe everything that happens "down there" is linked. I read one book "You don't have to live with cystis" that said continuous use of super/ large tampons can have an effect on your urine flow, in that the tampon doesn't allow for you to completely empty your bladder, leaving urine in the bladder that later causes infection.

After I was off Lupron in 2001, I bled for nine months straight, then skipped three months, then bled for another 5. It was horrible for me, and I contribute that to my subsequent diagnoses of IC.

I was referred to my gyno by my family doc. Luckily, my gyno was also a urologist and he was able to diagnose me immediately. I didn't have the cystophy, they used a catheter and filled my bladder with different levels of acid to see how temperamental my bladder was. This was much less painful than a cystophy.

Another website to visit is http://www.ichelp.org. I'm on a very strict diet and medication that helps my IC, but I still have flares. If you feel you may have IC, go to the doctor ASAP, after discussing my symptoms with my doctor I felt much better.

Best of luck
