It is painful...BUT nothing compared to a cytescopy!! If you test positive for IC, they will inject medicine directly into your bladder...thats what my doc did. I am 4 hours away from this specialist, so I have an upcoming appt to sart the injections closer to my home. I am also on Elmiron 100mg 3x a day. The bladder injections can be done weekly...for me it only helped for 4-5 hours. I have heard it can take awhile.
