Re: Depression

I absolutely think depression could be a symptom of Endo. Jeez, we feel like crap half or most of the time. We have all kinds of symptoms that doctors can't explain or don't take seriously. Some of us have had to practically put our lives on hold because of pain, infertility or other symptoms, and that's if you can make it out of bed that day. Who wouldn't get depressed?! But, also our hormones are not in the balances that they are supposed to be at any given time of the month. Too much of one hormone can certainly cause depression. I've found that St. John's Wort does help with the extra benefit that it is an anti-viral or anti-bacterial (can't remember which). Also L-Tryptophan has helped me too. Natural Progesterone can help calm. Estrogen is an "excitor" and progesterone is supposed to be the calming balancer. Unfortunately, Endo suffers have too much estrogen in relation to progesterone so that can have an effect.
