Re: Painful Intercourse

Liz, I have the same problem so at least you are not alone. I found different positions hurt less than others. (me on top has worked well because I have some control) I also try to take a couple Advil before sex, meaning it pretty much has to be planned. I hate having to plan sex, but that is just life for me with endo. A couple Advil before at least helps lessen the pain. I also found that if my hubby gives me a back rub first, it helps to relax me. It is hard to relax when you are expecting it to be painful. Also, lots of foreplay helps too-gets me more in the mood and also helps to relax me. Try easier sex too, meaning not as much penetration. Deep penetration kills me and seems to hurt me more.

Hope this helps! Feel free to email me at my work address: ameyer@dbllaw.com if you want to talk further. I know how hard it is and am so thankfully that I married a wonderful, patient man!

Hugs! Amy Meyer
