Kim, I have had two shots already and get the third next week (I get them once a mo for 6 mo). I started noticing a difference about 3-4 weeks into it. My pain went away completly!! Like Amy said everyone is different but it is working for me. I was scared when I read a lot of these posts about the side effects but for me I only have the night sweats and hot flashes. I just went to my specialist on Friday for a checkup since starting the shots and I asked him about bone denisity loss and he said it would be minimal (nothing to worry about) and that I should take 1000-1200 mg of calcium/vit D combo daily and it would help a lot. He said that he could give me the add back therapy for the hot flashes but I decided to sweat it out for now. I have heard the add back can cause weight gain but I'm not positive maybe Amy can answer that or someone who tried it. With the Lupron I have also lost some weight and I'm very small to start with. If you get the hot flashes try getting a rice bag (my mom made me several) and put them in the freezer, I take them to bed with me and they allow me to fall asleep and tylenol pm which isn't addicting but shouldn't be taken everyday also helps me sleep through the night. Good luck and keep us posted and I hope the lupron works for you like it is working for me. Take Care! Amanda P.
