Amy,

This is just my opinion, but I would say to get a second opinion. Especially if you are in pain and being told it is normal...pain is not normal. And I have never heard that an IUD helps with painful periods. IUDs can cause cramping even...

Like I said, I am not a doc, but if you were my friend, I would be highly encouraging a second opinion...I go to a Reproductive Endocrinologist because she has more experience with complicated cases. Perhaps you should try that.
