IUD for possible Endo?

Hello everyone! I’m new to the group and I am so thankful to have found you!. I’m 31 and have never been diagnosed with endometriosis but after reading your post I think it’s possibly what I have. For the last 4-5 years I have had severe pain associated with my periods. The pain has gotten progressively worse over the last couple years and lately has been unbearable (can’t walk, can’t sleep, nauseated, ect.). I recently saw my doctor for my yearly exam and for the umpteenth time with a smile I was told “Some women just have painful periods. You’re normal!” I don’t feel normal!! At my last visit (4 weeks ago) she switched my birth control from Aleese to the Ortho Evra patch. I actually had stopped taking the Aleese prior to my visit because it was making me sick (she said it was the Progesterone). The patch hasn’t been agreeing with my system but I know I need to give it some time. I called the office today to let them know the problems I was having with the patch and to also get a prescript refill for my pain meds. Even though I’m using the patch back to back now is the time when I would normally have my period and I have the same unbelievable pain……maybe even worse. They told me to give the patch some time to work (which I knew they would) but also suggested that if the patch doesn’t work she could put in an IUD. Has anyone else had this advice? Did it work? I had a tubal ligation in 1998 so I only take BC to help control the pain. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!
