I higly suggest that you ask them for a special anti bacterial soap. Wash yourself in it for like 20 minutes in warm water. It helps to cut the risk of infection. Also a couple of days before the lap (if he doesn't do a bowel prep) Eat a lot of fiber to help "cleanse" yourself :)
