Re: Laparscopy and Adesions/Possible Endo

When I mentioned the desire to keep my uterus, it was because research has shown that most hysterctomies do not remove the source of the pain and also that sexual sensations and orgasm is diminished. I feel a lot of my orgasm in my uterus and feel that this would detract from it a lot if my uterus was removed. If they were only going to remove it because it was liable to fall forward and adhere to the bladder, then my response would be that there are less drastic strategies where getting around that is concerned and that uterine suspension was a better option. I dont know how serious the adhesion is. I had a spinal block and from what I can gather there is not much time. That plus the uterus being enlarged and making it difficult to perform the operation? Don't know--I'm not a surgeon but I would have thought that prioroty would have been to deliver baby and do the tubal ligation and not mess with something that wasn't causing any bother at the time. Or so they thought... I've had bladder pain and problems since 1998 after my first caesar and had three ultrasound scans which showed nothing. They never offered laparoscopy until recently and yet those notes are on my records at the same hospital. I'm just a little alarmed that no one has ever checked them and instead the Doctor has speculated about other things being the cause of my pain and not the uterus and bladder being stuck together. He either never read that far back or doesnt feel that that could be the cause of my pain...
