I am answering my own question. I took my daughter to surgeon for follow up visit today. We asked him to explain why she wouldn't be able to have children, and he said, "No, no, no. I said you CAN have children." What a delightful mistake!

She realizes that she misunderstood when he spoke to her before. My apologies for upsetting anyone who might have read this before.
