Re: Going for my first Lap Friday

I'm sorry to say this, but sounds like your doctor doesn't know very
much about cysts or Endo. I just had my 3rd Lap about 5 weeks ago, and
the 2 months before my surgery were agony. Sitting and walking sent
shooting pains to both sides where the ovaries are. This was totally
different from my pain before my other 2 surgeries. In addition, I'd
been having A LOT of bowel problems, particulary at my period, but
during the last 2 months, it had become an every day thing. For about a
year before that, my cramps were almost strictly on each side near my
hips bones, not my uterus. I was CONVINCED the Endo was on my bowls on
each side because that's where it hurt so much. Well, turns out there
was none on my bowels. All my pain was caused my a cyst on each ovary
and Endo behind the ovary. So don't let your doctor tell you cysts
won't cause pain. They do! I think we Endo sufferers happen to be more
sensitive than the average woman and maybe what wouldn't bother them,
causes us to be in agony. I think it's just another symptom of this
disease or whatever causes us to have it.
I also read recently that when doctors even "touch" the bowels during
surgery the bowels will actually move away because they are so
sensitive. So it makes since we'd have a lot of pain in that area if
blood, hormones or other inflamatories are dripping on the bowels from
the fallopian tubes or from a burst cyst.
True you might have IBS, it is a common ailment with Endo and a lot of
the diet, herbal and natural hormonal options that have been suggested
on this forman in back issues can help with that. But, I also think
your cysts could be a big part of your pain and if you manage to get rid
of them (by natural, chemical or surgical means) you will feel better. I
know I do.
