Re: Going for my first Lap FridayFrom: Leigh (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Apr 29 12:10:53 2004
Hey guys. I'm back from my lap. Thanks for your advice. The Dr. did not find anything but some cysts apparently. However, my lap was Friday and I have not heard back from her. I did not talk to her after the surgery since I was drugged up (or I don't remember at least). She just told my parents that there were cysts. I'm just a bit pissed off she hasn't contacted me yet (despite my call to her Tuesday). Ok - my question is this....sorry so long. Back in November I had an ultrasound showing two 3cm cysts on my right ovary. I had been having stomach pains, constipation, back pain, etc. Interesting enough, I was even having twinging pains on my right side where the ovary is located. However, this doctor was insistent that these cysts were not big enough to cause my problems. How can 2 cysts the size of pingpong balls not cause some problems in some people?? Ugggh. So, I got on birth control and the pain eventually subsided somewhat. Now, because of excessive weight gain I recently got off the bc this past month. The pains are coming back (not as annoying, but they are there). I do not know yet if the cysts she found in my lap are the same ones from november, but if they are - is that normal? I was told back in november that they'd go away in a month. Also, if they are new cysts, is it normal to get them on bc? I am so frustrated with this. Out of all my tests (colonoscopy, upper and lower abdomen ultrasounds, blood tests, stool samples, urinalysis, and lap) the ONLY thing that shows up are these stupid cysts. The dr says it's IBS, but I just can't accept that. What do you guys think? Thanks, Leigh
